The Story of Allah Allahu Akbar Ayat Allah
Is the story of listening, Of grief and sorrows That resultted in not Listening to Allah And your loved Ones.
It is also of moving Forward past your Sorrows and proceeding Past your losses.
And how you do it Is by returning To Allah, to these Verses in the Quran.
The Heights 7:200 “And should a temptation From Satan provoke thee, Seek refuge in Allah. Truly He is Hearing. Knowing.”
The Thunder 13:27–29 “Those who disbelieve, “Why has some sign not Been sent down from his Lord.” Say, “Truly Allah Leads astray whomsoever He will and guides to Himself whosoever returns in Repentance — those who believe And whose hearts are at Peace in the remembrance Of Allah. Are not hearts at peace in the Remembrance of Allah? Those who believe and Perform righteous deeds, Theirs is the blessedness and A beautiful return.”
#1 Ask Allah and check with your loved ones first.
#2 Listen.
#3 Query: “Help me understand you better.
#4 What hurts? #5 I helped create that distance and I want to take responsibility for changing it.
#6 Ask. Listen. Query. Proceed.
STOP
6.1 ASK — what are you trying to tell me? What have I missed? Do you want comfort, understanding, collaboration, or a concrete solution? Begin with sincere question instead of a prepared defense.
6.2 LISTEN — Let the answer finish. Notice my impulse to interrupt, explain, diagnose, or withdraw. Reflect back what I heard: “Am I understanding you correctly?” Listening is not waiting for my turn. It’s giving another persons experience room to exist without instantly correcting it.
6.3 QUERY — Clarify what is true, what is assumed, and what is still uncertain. Ask about the need beneath the frustration, including my own. When anger rises, consult Allah, breathe, and examine whether seeking understanding or victory. Understanding is victory. Be willing to discovering that my first interpretation was wrong.
6.4 PROCEED — Respond to the real Issue, in proportion to it. Choose a specific act of care, a respectful disagreement, an apology, a boundary, or a shared next step. Do not disappear into avoidance and call it peace. If I am too activated to respond constructively,, name that honestly, and commit to returning to the conversation.
And when hardship surrounds us, we remembered Allah’s words:
“For truly with hardship comes ease!”
Ash-Sharh 94:5–6
This is how we begin Again. Not by denying sorrows. Not by forgetting our losses. Not by Excusing our repeated mistakes.
For the purpose of repentance is not merely to be forgiven for who we were, but to strive through, through Allah’s mercy, to become better than we were.
I. SORROW AND LOSS
Surah Yusuf 12:86 The grief of Prophet Ya‘qub (Jacob) إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ “I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.” Ya‘qub's sorrow over Yusuf was immense. His example demonstrates that faith does not require the absence of grief. Instead, his anguish becomes something he brings before Allah. II. ACCEPTANCE WITHOUT DEFEAT Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155–157 إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn. “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” The preceding verse names fear, hunger, and loss among life's trials. Patience (sabr) means remaining steadfast through them, not pretending that the pain is unreal. III. LEARNING TO LISTEN Surah Az-Zumar 39:18 الَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُ “Who listen to speech and follow the best of it.” The verse praises discernment, not passive hearing. This is particularly important for the line in your second page about listening and recurring mistakes. The spiritual lesson is to receive guidance thoughtfully, recognize what is right, and actually follow it. It is not a command to obey another human being unquestioningly.
