Addendum to Part III

Minerva

What Romulus didn’t know was that Minerva betrayed herself.

Romulus

The thing is, the story is immaterial whether Minerva told the truth, betrayed herself or Romulus, or others, or was betrayed by her friends and “family.”

Romulus never cared. He always swiftly forgave her and proceeded to love her anyway, no matter what was lost or unleashed. He simply never cared as long as he continued to hear her voice.

That’s why he came home, instead of abandoning her entirely or ever. He only ever wanted to be home near her. He spent ten bloody years cutting his way west, countless battles waged, won, lost, countless setbacks. There he was even making his way to her.

The closer he got, the angrier and fiercer the adversaries became, and when she finally spoke, they began to attack her, because he himself was invincible and untouchable and the enemy began to understand that the only way to hurt him was to hurt her. She, however, took her time to see this.

And so did Andromeda.

Addendum by Andromeda

The foolish King, in her view, never looks excited by the prospect of marriage—just thinks about the stars and the moon—as if her constellation ever stopped smiling at him.

Romulus

Little did she know that her hug is his favorite thing.
